Have you ever considered applying for a grant but felt intimidated by the process? In this panel discussion, librarians Holly Davis (Haines Public Library), Marguerite La Riviere (Kegoayah Kozga Library), and Eleanor Werbe (Kodiak Public Library) will share their experiences with 2015 Early Literacy Minigrants from the Alaska State Library. They will describe how the minigrants allowed them to purchase items that have enhanced the youth areas of their libraries. They will explain how the application process worked and how they put the funds to use. They will share their evaluations of how these grants have influenced their early literacy programming and services. They will show that applying for minigrants like these are not difficult, and that even small amounts of money can have an impact on a community library. Moderated by Linda Klein (Ready to Read Resource Center).
